So this really happened, in a recording breaking surgery, Doctors remove 232 (yes that’s way more than most people have) teeth from an Indian boy’s mouth. Ashik Gavai, 17, from Buldhana in central India, underwent a grueling 7 hour operation to remove all the “extra” teeth. Doctors believe it was a world record and that he was suffering from a rare condition known as complex odontoma. The poor kid was experiencing severe pain in his jaw for over a year and a half before he left his village to seek out medical treatment.
Ashik is doing quite well from the difficult surgery and doctor’s expect him to make a full recovery. There is a chance however that the condition might return.
