Professionalism is expected in all businesses – it is an especially strict requirement when your job is to report news. Unless you have a news show on HBO, you can never use explicit terminologies – we’ll leave it up to you to figure which words fall under this category, however a good rule is to not use the words you would refrain from using in front in your Grand Ma.
The thing is, news anchors and reporters are people also and like anyone in front of a camera, while perfection is expected, guaranteeing it is next to impossible. Reporters can obviously get their tongues twisted occasionally – which of course results in them saying inappropriate words – and are also doomed to run into scenarios that don’t go so according to the plans.
Good thing is that it makes the “news” just that much more entertaining to watch for us.
