5. He Genuinely Cares About His Staff
While in final negotiations with NBC when he was forced to leave his job as the host of The Tonight Show, Conan stressed the importance of making sure his employees were taken care of. When the dust settled, Conan was bought out of his contract and his staff received around $12 million.
There were about 50 stagehands and various crew members left out of the severance package, however, who Conan paid severance to out of his own pocket for roughly 6 weeks to help them during the difficult transition.
