Being able to pursue your dreams is really a privilege; your life really has to put into the right alignment. Apart from having the desire to meet your goals, you need the proper motivation and be physically and mentally able to learn the necessary skills. Unfortunately, most are often not so determined and give up upon meeting consistent failure – this is not one of those stories.
Sean Forbes ability to hear was taken away from him at a very young age due to a late Meningitis diagnosis – talk about a horrendous situation when your aims to pursue a career in music.
Although many were unsupportive of Sean’s desires, he was lucky enough to have extremely encouraging parents who motivated him to pursue his dreams – as irrational as they may seem to others.
Although he can’t listen to his beats and rhymes, he adapted a way to be able to read lips and became a maestro at American Sign Language – and amazingly, “the skill to enunciate every single syllable.”
His success in his endeavors led him further to begin an organization of his own; entitled Deaf Performance Artist Network (D-PAN), Sean started a non-profit organization to support people that deaf or have hearing disabilities to perform music.
One of D-PAN’s missions has been to produce music videos. The idea is to use American Sign Language in the videos to allow the ones with disabilities to enjoy some performing arts.
This is easily one of the most encouraging stories you will ever hear. We hope it inspires you to not give up on your dreams. In fact, it is best to embrace all the hardships and negativity and find a way to channel it into positivity. Plus, who really cares for a success story if everything goes according to the plan.
