Although the state has decriminalized recreational marijuana and provides it to those who use it medically, many residents of the state are looking to reap the benefits from taxation. Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom is interested in conducting intensive research on the plant and if the research produces results favorable for humanity, then a bill could be seen for the 2016 election.
