Scammers Get A Dose of their Own Hilarious Medicine

Ending up on random websites that tell you “your computer is under attack” – or something along those lines – is quite a common occurrence. In fact, it is so easy that you can misspell the url of the website and 9 out of 10 times you’ll end up on a fake “spammy” site.

Now web savvy individuals are typically aware of these scams and exit out of these pages immediately; this is second nature to most of us because we know that clicking anywhere on that site or calling the number they present is simply a waste of time. But can you imagine a person who with little to no knowledge of computers – ending up on one these pages?

To understand the depth of these scams, Youtube prankster Jack Vale decided to call the number. To our surprise, an actual human being picked up the phone. Jack, playing the role of an elderly couple relayed her the “problem” their computer is facing. Long story short, not only did the person on the phone ridiculously try to scam the “old couple”, but continued with her evil intentions knowing that she will be taking away last of their monthly savings away from them.

This makes one thing very clear – money hungry predators simply do not care about who they are ripping off. Since we can’t stop people from being harmful to innocent people, what we can do is encourage you to share this story with all the older people with computer access you know because although this prank ended on a funny note, it may not be so funny to see a relative fall victim of this nuisance.
