1. Drink Coffee for a Better Nap
We never thought the secret to a great nap could be drinking a cup of coffee before laying down, but according to a Japanese study that’s the trick! Called a “Coffee Nap” the idea is to consume about 200 milligrams of caffeine (the amount in one to two cups of coffee) and then immediately take a 20-minute power nap which will let the adenosine (a chemical produced in the brain that causes that tired feeling from being awake too long) dissipate during the nap. The caffeine won’t start to kick in until about 30 minutes after consuming so you’ll wake up clear, focused and more alert than you normally would after a nap. Another reason to petition your boss for naptime!
