2. Don’t Brush Teeth Immediately After Eating
Most people have a natural inclination to brush their teeth after eating meals, we know we do! But did you know that doing so may damage your smile? Studies have shown that it’s actually not a good idea because foods that are acidic—citrus fruits, sports drinks, tomatoes, soda (both diet and regular) tend to soften the enamel and brushing can act like sandpaper on the weakened teeth. It’s recommended that you wait up to an hour to brush your teeth after eating and if you are looking for an alternative you could chew gum instead! If you don’t like gum and are looking for a more natural remedy you could try eating fennel or cardamom seeds to get rid of “food” breath.
