For some, going to a Starbucks is nothing but a basic trip to a coffee house, for others, it’s a spiritual experience – one that should not involve getting yelled at by the cashier (and accused of stealing!). On one trip to Starbucks, Ruby Chen came across one such employee.
Here is how the story goes:
Chen ordered a Frappuccino and proceeded to search for her phone – she intended on using Starbucks app to pay for her order. In the meantime, the cashier, asked Chen for her name – the busy Chen did not hear the cashier’s request; cue the embarrassing meltdown of the employee.
Disturbed by the employee’s behavior, Chen asked to speak with the manager to which the cashier replied, “You are talking the manager;” Starbucks told later that she was a “shift supervisor”.
“This customer’s experience is not reflective of the service our partners provide to customers every day,” said the spokesman for Starbucks. “Our leadership team is reaching out to the customer to apologize and make this right.”
Needless to say, Starbucks immediately fired the employee; however, Melissa, the “shift supervisor”, insisted that she actually quit; she had been an employee for 5 years. On the plus side for Chen, she walked away with a $100 gift card.
No matter how bad of a day you are having, you simply do not want to portray yourself in this demeanor; what you see below is what you should simply NEVER do – this is not the way you want to become famous!
